Savitri Drillick, Artist and Art Educator
Contemplative Art

I grew up in New Jersey and lived in London, England as a teenager. When I returned to the States to attend art college, I  explored printmaking and painting. I worked in the graphic arts in New York City for ten years. In the mid 1980s, I traveled to India to study and offer service at an ashram in India. The practices of yoga are the inspiration for my work as an artist and educator. Yoga teaches me how to view my whole life as art and art as a process of self discovery. This understanding has given me a way to open up to what it means to be alive and to recognize the divinity in myself, in others and in the world.
